Soldier 0 – Anby (ZZZ) Overview

Soldier 0 – Anby (ZZZ) is one of the Electric characters with role. Soldier 0 – Anby (ZZZ) is one of the S Rank characters in Zenless Zone Zero.

Soldier 0 – Anby (ZZZ) is included in this guide, you can jump to Soldier 0 – Anby (ZZZ) Here.

Soldier 0 – Anby (ZZZ) Mechanism

Intro

Soldier 0 – Anby is positioned as an on-field Attack character, and compared to other on-field Attack characters, she introduces a completely new damage concept called “Follow-up Attack”. So, what does this “Follow-up Attack” mean? It’s a brand-new damage system. To explain “Follow-up Attack” in the simplest way, we can understand it as damage dealt by a character outside their turn. For example, when our Soldier 0 – Anby attacks an enemy, Pulchra performs an off-turn diagonal slash—this diagonal slash by Pulchra counts as “Follow-up Attack” damage. Of course, it’s not necessarily true that only attacks triggered by characters off-field count as Follow-up Attacks; in actual combat, Soldier 0 – Anby can actively perform Follow-up Attacks through certain moves.

The damage dealt by Follow-up Attacks, just like regular damage, benefits from stats such as Attack, PEN Rate, and Critical stats. Additionally, Follow-up Attacks can benefit from some “special buffs” that regular attacks cannot. For instance, the new two-piece Drive Disc set effect only buffs Follow-up Attack damage, not regular damage. Similarly, Pulchra’s additional ability only buffs Follow-up Attack damage, not regular damage. However, Follow-up Attacks can also benefit from the general buffs that regular attacks can receive. For example, if we add Astra Yao to Soldier 0 – Anby, all of Astra Yao’s general buffs can enhance Big Anby’s Follow-up Attack damage.

Soldier 0 – Anby’s Special Skill & Silver Star Mark

Soldier 0 – Anby is an on-field damage dealer with a simple and easy-to-understand skill mechanic. Her core skill is her Special Skill.

The Special Skill grants Soldier 0 – Anby a passive called Silver Star Mark. Whenever Soldier 0 – Anby hits an enemy with any attack, she applies a Silver Star Mark to the target. When Soldier 0 – Anby hits an enemy with a Silver Star Mark, the mark charges up and stacks, up to a maximum of three stacks. Once fully stacked, the Silver Star Mark will glow brightly.

So, what is the purpose of these stacks? When the Silver Star Mark has stacks, Soldier 0 – Anby can tap her Special Skill to instantly teleport in front of the enemy and perform a Follow-up Attack. The effective trigger range for this teleport is very long. Each time you tap the Special Skill to perform a Follow-up Attack, one stack of the Silver Star Mark is consumed. If you have more than one stack, you can continuously tap the Special Skill to consume multiple stacks and perform multiple Follow-up Attacks in a row.

When the Silver Star Mark reaches its maximum of three stacks, Soldier 0 – Anby can perform three consecutive Follow-up Attacks on the enemy, which will also summon a lightning strike on the target, dealing additional damage. Therefore, it is recommended in actual combat to fully stack the Silver Star Mark to three layers before tapping the Special Skill three times to perform three Follow-up Attacks, maximizing your damage output.

Now that we know tapping the Special Skill performs Follow-up Attacks, what does holding the Special Skill do? Holding the Special Skill consumes 50% energy to deal a powerful Electric damage attack and fully replenishes all stacks of the Silver Star Mark. Just one hold of the Special Skill fully restores all stacks. After that, you can immediately tap the Special Skill three times to perform three Follow-up Attacks.

As for the charging rate of her other skills, based on our testing, aside from the Ex Special Skill, her Ultimate can also fully replenish three stacks. Aside from the Ex Special Skill and Ultimate, her Basic Attack and Dodge Counter are the fastest at stacking. Two cycles of Basic Attacks can fully stack three layers, and triggering the Dodge Counter twice can also fully stack three layers. Her other skills, such as Quick AssistAssist Follow-Up, and Chain Attack, have slower charging rates for the Silver Star Mark.

Soldier 0 – Anby’s Core

Finally, let’s introduce Soldier 0 – Anby‘s two core skills:

First Core Skill: Soldier 0 – Anby deals 25% increased damage to enemies with the Silver Star Mark. Additionally, after an enemy is marked, the Critical Damage they take from Follow-up Attacks is further increased by 30% of Anby’s Critical Damage.

Second Core Skill: When there is a teammate of “Stun or Support” in the party, Soldier 0 – Anby gains an innate 10% Critical Rate. Moreover, while she is on the battlefield, the entire team’s Follow-up Attacks deal 25% increased damage to enemies with the Silver Star Mark.

With the support of these two core skills, Soldier 0 – Anby can not only buff her own damage but also enhance her teammates’ Follow-up Attack damage and Critical Damage, making these two core skills incredibly practical.

Soldier 0 – Anby (ZZZ) Team

Soldier 0 – Anby (ZZZ) Ice Teams

When building a team for Soldier 0 – Anby, there are two key points to focus on:

  1. Soldier 0 – Anby’s Smooth On-field Performance:
Anby has consistent damage output and excels in on-field combat, making her ideal for teams where she can stay on-field without frequent character swaps. This is because her support abilities rely on the Silver Star Mark, which can only be applied and maintained while she is on-field. Additionally, skills like Dodge Counter and Assist Counter, which require character swaps, do not generate energy or have follow-up mechanics, making it more efficient to keep her on-field rather than switching frequently.

  2. Building a Follow-up Attack Team:
A well-rounded team for Soldier 0 – Anby should consist of Attack + Stun + Support roles. Specifically, Anby pairs best with off-field Follow-up Stun and Follow-up Support characters. Fortunately, two such characters are available: Pulchra and the upcoming Trigger.

Recommended Teams

1. Soldier 0 – Anby + Pulchra + Astra Yao

  • Astra Yao is an excellent off-field Support who doesn’t require on-field actions, allowing Soldier Zero – Anby to stay on-field and deal consistent damage. This is the most straightforward and effective team composition for Anby.

2. Soldier 0 – Anby + Pulchra + Rina

  • Rina provides PEN Rate buffs and can quickly switch in and out without taking up on-field time. Her flexibility makes her a great match for Soldier 0 – Anby’s playstyle.

3. Soldier 0 – Anby + Pulchra + Caesar

  • While Soldier 0 – Anby is durable, her Basic Attacks leave brief openings where she can be knocked back. Caesar mitigates this by providing invincibility during critical moments. Additionally, Caesar’s semi-Stun capabilities complement Pulchra’s Stun efficiency, making this team highly synergistic.

These team compositions maximize Soldier 0 – Anby’s strengths while addressing her weaknesses, ensuring smooth gameplay and high damage output.
