Updated Seed’s full build.
Seed (ZZZ) is one of the Electric characters with role. Seed (ZZZ) is one of the S Rank characters in Zenless Zone Zero.
Seed Build (ZZZ) is included in this guide, you can jump to Seed Build (ZZZ) Here.
In combat, after performing the fourth stage of her basic attack, Seed can summon a robot to execute an elbow strike. However, we don’t need to rely solely on the fourth basic attack to trigger this elbow strike—there are five faster ways to execute it:
When Seed uses her Ex-Special, she fires missiles forward. If she holds down the Ex-Special button, she can consume up to 60 energy to automatically summon the robot for an elbow strike.
Below Seed’s avatar, there is an energy gauge called Steel Charge, with a maximum capacity of 150 points. When Steel Charge reaches 120 points, the gauge turns yellow. Once yellow, we can skip the first four basic attacks and directly summon the robot for the elbow strike.
Now, here’s the key point: when Seed has 120 Steel Charge, she can follow up the robot’s elbow strike by spamming the attack button to consume 120 Steel Charge and unleash a powerful missile barrage followed by a plunging attack. This combo is Seed’s primary source of damage in combat.
Thus, Seed’s combat strategy becomes clear: we need to accumulate Steel Charge through various methods, and once she has 120 points, use the elbow strike followed by the plunging attack to deal damage.
In practice, there are three ways for her to gain Steel Charge:
Before introducing the third method, let’s first explain her core passive: Seed identifies the Attack-type teammate with the highest initial ATK as the Vanguard. When the Vanguard uses their Ex-Special, Seed gains an ATK and Crit DMG boost for 40 seconds. Similarly, when Seed uses her Ex-Special, the Vanguard gains the same buffs for 40 seconds. When both buffs are active simultaneously, Seed and the Vanguard enter the Bisiege state, increasing their damage dealt by 25%.
Although Seed is an Attack-type character, she provides support-like utility. However, these buffs only remain active while the character is on-field. If the character is switched off-field, the buffs will expire after 3 seconds.
Now, the third way to recover Steel Charge: whenever the Vanguard (while being controlled) or Seed herself consumes energy, for every 1 energy consumed, Seed gains 0.5 Steel Charge. This means even if Seed is off-field, using the Vanguard’s Ex-Special will still generate Steel Charge for her.
These are the three ways to recover Steel Charge. Additionally, Seed has an extra ability: if there are other Attack characters in the party, while Seed is on-field dealing damage, she can restore 2 energy to the Vanguard (can trigger once per second). This means not only can the Vanguard help Seed recover Steel Charge, but Seed can also help the Vanguard recover energy.
Finally, Seed’s elbow strike, plunging attack, and Ultimate deal 30% increased damage and ignore 25% of the enemy’s Lightning RES. This covers all of her skill mechanics.

Flower Chain Protocol
Seed (ZZZ) Core Passive
The Attack teammate with the highest ATK is considered as “Seed’s” [Vanguard].
When [Vanguard] releases [EX Special Attack], “Seed” gains [Onslaught] status, increasing “Seed’s” ATK by 225 / 350 / 475 / 600 / 725 / 1000 and CRIT DMG by 17.5% / 20% / 22.5% / 25% / 27.5% / 30%. When “Seed” releases [EX Special Attack], [Vanguard] gains [Direct Strike] status, increasing [Vanguard]’s ATK by 225 / 350 / 475 / 600 / 725 / 1000 and CRIT DMG by 17.5% / 20% / 22.5% / 25% / 27.5% / 30%.
When [Direct Strike] and [Onslaught] are both active, “Seed” and [Vanguard] gain [Besiege] status, increasing all DMG dealt by 17.5% / 20% / 22.5% / 25% / 27.5% / 30%.
[Onslaught], [Direct Strike], and [Besiege] take effect when the Character is currently active, and remain effective when switched to inactive until the Character exits or the effect expires after 3 seconds. Upon entering a stage, “Seed” immediately gains [Onslaught] and [Besiege] status, while [Vanguard] immediately gains [Direct Strike] and [Besiege] status.
[Direct Strike] and [Onslaught] status last for 40 seconds, and the duration can be refreshed when gained again. When [Vanguard] as the active Character or “Seed” consumes Energy, for every 1 point of Energy consumed, “Seed” recovers 0.5 points of [Steel Charge].

The percentage indicates the performance of Seed (ZZZ) Mindscape in Damage boost.
M1
Significantly increases the frequency of Steel Charge attacks, allowing Seed to execute one Ultimate and three Steel Charge attacks within a single Daze burst window. Using the team composition of Astral and Harumasa in the simulation, M1 improves Seed’s burst damage during Daze by 21.6%.
M2
Seed and Attack-type teammates ignore 20% of enemy DEF. The Ex-Special can continuously consume energy up to 120 points. For every 5 energy consumed, the damage of the subsequent heavy punch increases by 5%. The total damage improvement from M2 is 12.5%.
M3/M5
Damage increases by 9.0% (M3) and 8.34% (M5) respectively.
M4
Ultimate damage increased by 20%, resulting in a total damage improvement of 2.35%.
M6
Crit DMG increased by 50%. When executing Steel Charge attack, an additional instance of damage equal to 495% of ATK is dealt (can trigger once every 3 seconds). The total damage improvement from M6 is 21%.

Regarding W-engines:
Undoubtedly, the Signature W-engine deals the highest damage. The following Signature W-engines perform relatively close to each other, all achieving at least 85% of Seed’s Signature W-engine’s performance:
For players without S-rank W-engines, the A-rank W-engine “Fierce Eagle’s Aspiration” is the best alternative.

Sub Stats
The 4-piece Dawn’s Boom set is the preferred choice. Although the 4-piece Woodpecker Electro set theoretically offers higher damage when maintaining two stacks, it is difficult to consistently keep two stacks active in actual combat. Additionally, the ultimate uptime in practice is significantly lower in real combat.
For the 2-piece set, the Crit DMG set provides slightly higher damage, but it outperforms the ATK% and Electro DMG sets by less than 2%. Prioritize using a 2-piece set with better substats.
Prioritize (in order):
Seed’s team must consist of two Attack-type characters and one support.
Currently, there are no perfectly ideal Attack-type teammates for Seed. Selection should be based on the environment. Prioritize choosing Attack-type characters with fast Ex-Special animation that can be used off-field, such as Great Anby or Harumasa.
For physical environments, Nekomata can be chosen. Zhu Yuan and Ellen can also be paired with Seed when targeting corresponding enemy weaknesses.
For the support role, Astral is currently the optimal choice, performing slightly better than the second-best option, Trigger, under the same configuration. If neither Astral nor Trigger is available, players can temporarily use Nicole, Yazuha, M1 Rina, or M6 Lucy as substitutes.
