Ye Shunguang (ZZZ) is one of the Physical characters with role. Ye Shunguang (ZZZ) is one of the S Rank characters in Zenless Zone Zero.

In actual combat, Ye Shunguang has two forms: Black Mode, which is her Normal State, and White Mode, which is her enhanced state. In Black Mode, her basic attack has two patterns. The first is to repeatedly press attack key, causing her to slash forward four times. The other pattern involves holding the attack key; after holding, she continuously releases sword energy forward. During this process, her resistance to interruption is increased. However, testing shows that the cost-performance ratio of repeatedly pressing the attack key is higher in all aspects compared to holding it. Therefore, it is recommended to only use the repeated press attack key pattern.

Next is the key point. Ye Shunguang’s combat strategy revolves around constantly gaining Qingming Sword Force (QMSF) beneath her character icon. When she gains six points of QMSF, she can enter the enhanced White Mode. So, how do we accumulate this QMSF for her? There are four ways:

In Black Mode, hitting enemies with various attacks slowly accumulates QMSF for her. Testing confirms that repeatedly pressing the attack key accumulates it at the fastest rate.
Using her Ex-Special Skill in Black Mode grants one point of QMSF.
Unleashing her Ultimate in Black Mode grants six points of QMSF instantly and triggers entry into White Mode.
If any teammate activates Ether Veil, she instantly gains three points of QMSF. Therefore, she is very compatible with teammates who can activate Ether Veil. The free character Zhao is her best partner.

It is worth noting that Ye Shunguang’s QMSF does not easily go to waste through overflow like Miyabi’s combo points. In combat, Ye Shunguang allows for an overflow of up to three points. This means she doesn’t need to micromanage her resources as strictly, which is quite convenient.

Once she accumulates six points of QMSF, she can enter White Mode in three ways:

Unleashing her Ultimate allows direct entry.
Holding the attack key allows entry into White Mode.
Switching her in from off-field allows her to enter White Mode. Upon entering White Mode, not only is her skill damage significantly boosted, but all enemies are directly afflicted with the current Daze DMG Multiplier. Essentially, as long as she is in White Mode, all damage dealt counts as if they were in a Daze state. Once in this state, the output strategy is to consume her six points of QMSF as quickly as possible.

At this point, she has two output patterns: Long Cycle and Short Cycle. I will demonstrate both.

The Long Cycle initiates with a basic attack. If you are a beginner, you can simply keep pressing the attack key after entering White Mode until the mode ends.
The Short Cycle starts after entering White Mode by pressing E (Skill) and holding the Special Skill key. She will automatically consume all six points of QMSF for a burst of damage.

Here is the crucial part: whether using the Long or Short Cycle, specific inputs can raise her damage ceiling.

Optimal Long Cycle: After entering White Mode:

Tap attack key (Left Slash).
Tap attack key (Right Slash).
Tap attack key (Plunging Attack).
Tap attack key (Draw Slash).
Lightly tap the Special Skill key; she will fly into the air.
Tap attack key (Right Slash).
Tap attack key (Plunging Attack).
Tap attack key (Draw Slash).
Lightly tap the Special Skill key again to fly up.
Tap attack key (Plunging Attack).
Finally, tap Q (Ultimate Key) to finish and exit White Mode.

Optimal Short Cycle: After entering White Mode:

Tap the Special Skill key (Plunging Attack).
Tap the attack key (Draw Slash).
Tap the Special Skill key (Fly up).
Tap the Special Skill key (Plunging Attack).
Softly tap the attack key (Draw Slash).
Tap the Special Skill key (Fly up).
Tap the Ultimate key to exit White Mode.

Every time she enters White Mode, she is granted a free normal Ultimate. However, if she entered White Mode by casting her Ultimate, this upgrades into a Final Ultimate. So, Ye Shunguang has three types of Ultimates:

The Ultimate in Black Mode.
The free normal Ultimate granted when entering White Mode normally.
The upgraded Final Ultimate granted when entering White Mode via her Ultimate. It is important to note that Ye Shunguang must consume her own Decibel Rating to upgrade the small Ultimate into the Final Ultimate.

When not in the Enlightened Mind state and with fewer than 6 points of Qingming Sword Force, certain attacks slowly build Qingming Sword Force. Whenever Qingming Sword Force is gained by any means, each 1 point that exceeds the limit is converted into 1 stack of Bearer, stacking up to 3 times. Upon leaving the Enlightened Mind state, all Bearer stacks are consumed to grant the same number of Qingming Sword Force stacks.

Upon entering the battlefield, gain Unity, increasing CRIT Rate by 17.5% / 20% / 22.5% / 25% / 27.5% / 30% and DMG by 12.5% / 15% / 17.5% / 20% / 22.5% / 25%.

When Ultimate: Chasing Storms or Entry Skill: Illuminating Darkness is unleashed, Ye Shunguang enters the Enlightened Mind state and activates Ether Veil: Verdict. Ether Veil: Verdict and Enlightened Mind share the same duration, lasting 16s. The duration timer pauses while she is off-field. During the Enlightened Mind state, Ye Shunguang’s skills are enhanced, and all Physical DMG dealt by her skills becomes Honed Edge DMG.

While Ether Veil: Verdict is active, when an enemy enters Ether Veil: Verdict, they gain a Veil Vulnerability effect based on their current Stun DMG Multiplier. When Ye Shunguang’s skills deal DMG to enemies, the enemy’s Stun DMG Multiplier is ignored and replaced with the Veil Vulnerability bonus. Veil Vulnerability caps at 110%. The effect is removed when Ether Veil: Verdict ends.
