Updated Dialyn’s full build.
Dialyn (ZZZ) is one of the Physical characters with role. Dialyn (ZZZ) is one of the S Rank characters in Zenless Zone Zero.
Dialyn Build (ZZZ) is included in this guide, you can jump to Dialyn Build (ZZZ) Here.
Dialyn’s Role
Dialyn is positioned as a versatile burst-type Stun character. She can support both Rupture-type and Attack-type characters. However, rather than assisting sustained, on-field DPS characters with smooth damage output, Dialyn is better suited to supporting DPS with high instantaneous burst potential, especially those who rely on their Ultimates for explosive damage.
For example, Ellen is a sustained, on-field DPS with relatively even damage output—using Dialyn to support her may not show significant advantages. In contrast, pairing Dialyn with main DPS like Yixuan, whose Ultimate is highly specialized, or Anby Zero, whose Ultimate provides additional benefits, is more suitable. This is because Yixuan and Anby Zero possess much higher instantaneous burst damage compared to Ellen.
Dialyn’s Mechanics
Dialyn’s skill mechanics are very straightforward. Apart from her Ex-Special, her Basic Attack, Dodge Counter, Quick Assist, Defense Assist, Support Assault, Chain Attack, and Ultimate have no additional special effects. All of Dialyn’s core mechanics are stated within her Ex-Special description.
Dialyn’s Ex-Special provides a 50% Crit DMG increase and grants invincibility throughout its animation. Each use consumes 25 energy, and continuously using the Ex-Special causes it to upgrade sequentially.
The first use of the Ex-Special throws “Rock”. Using the Ex-Special again within 8 seconds of throwing Rock upgrades it to “Scissors”, which has higher damage and stagger multipliers than Rock. Using the Ex-Special again within 8 seconds of Scissors upgrades it to “Paper”, which again has higher damage and stagger multipliers.
The cycle continues: Rock → Scissors → Paper → Rock → Scissors → Paper, and so on. Executing the full Rock-Scissors-Paper combo consumes 25 energy × 3 = 75 energy. While Rock and Scissors have no special additional effects, Paper does:
When an enemy is hit by Paper, the next time that enemy enters the Daze state, its Daze duration is increased by 2 seconds, and its Daze vulnerability multiplier is increased by 30%. Additionally, when Dialyn uses her Ex-Special, the entire team gains a 40% increased damage dealt buff for 15 seconds. While this buff is active, using the Ex-Special again or using the Ultimate extends the buff duration by 10 seconds, up to a maximum of 45 seconds. In practice, this 45-second duration is almost a permanent buff.
Positive Reviews
Now, let’s look at her other core mechanic: Positive Reviews. Her Positive Reviews are displayed below her avatar and can store up to 120 points. How are Positive Reviews accumulated? There are three methods:
Dialyn immediately gains 60 Positive Reviews when entering combat.
While in combat (whether on-field or off-field), she generates 0.6 Positive Reviews per second.
Each time her Ex-Special hits an enemy, she gains 7.5 Positive Reviews.
When Dialyn’s Positive Reviews reach 90 points, she gains 1 Enhancement Point. If she then uses an Enhanced Basic Attack (hold Basic Attack), she consumes this 1 Enhancement Point and 90 Positive Reviews to forcefully open the Chain Attack window. The next teammate entering the field via this Chain Attack will have their Chain Attack directly upgraded to their Ultimate.
In practice, there is a more efficient method to save Positive Reviews: if this Enhanced Basic Attack puts the enemy into Daze, or if it hits an enemy already in Daze, the Positive Reviews cost is reduced from 90 to 60 points, while still allowing the next teammate to directly use their Ultimate.
In summary, Dialyn provides:
Additional Minor Mechanics
When her initial Crit Rate exceeds 50%, for every 1% over 50, her Impact increases by 2, up to a maximum of +100 Impact. This means if we build Dialyn with max Crit Rate, she can gain the full +100 Impact.
Dialyn’s personal damage output is significantly higher than other Stun characters. Why? Because when there is an Attack-type or Rupture-type character in the team:
If the previous teammate was an Attack-type agent, her Rock, Scissors, and Paper will deal extra damage equal to 320% of that Attack-type agent’s ATK.
If the previous teammate was a Rupture-type agent, her Rock, Scissors, and Paper will deal extra damage equal to 400% of that Rupture-type agent’s Sheer Force.
This means, as a Stun character, she benefits from the support capabilities of both Attack-type and Rupture-type teammates in the party, resulting in much higher personal damage compared to other on-field Stun characters.
Finally, when using Rock, Scissors, and Paper, she can weave in special Basic Attacks between Rock and Scissors. For example: Rock → two special Basic Attacks → Scissors → two special Basic Attacks → Paper. This sequence results in even higher stagger value generation.

Five-Star Service Hotline
Dialyn (ZZZ) Core Passive
Upon entering the battlefield, Dialyn starts with 60 Positive Reviews. If her initial CRIT Rate surpasses 50%, her Impact increases by 1.5 / 1.6 / 1.7 / 1.8 / 1.9 / 2 for each additional 1%, up to a maximum increase of 100.
After using EX Special Attack: Rock, the next EX Special Attack becomes EX Special Attack: Scissors for 8s.
After using EX Special Attack: Scissors, the next EX Special Attack becomes EX Special Attack: Paper! for 8s.
When EX Special Attack: Paper! hits an enemy, it applies the Malicious Complaint effect. While under Malicious Complaint, if the enemy becomes Stunned, the Stun duration is extended by 2s, and Stun DMG Multiplier increases by 17.5% / 20% / 22.5% / 25% / 27.5% / 30%. Before recovering from Stun, Malicious Complaint can trigger on the same target only once. The Stun duration bonus does not stack with similar effects. When an enemy with Malicious Complaint recovers from being Stunned, the effect ends.
While in combat, Dialyn gains 0.6 Positive Reviews per second. When a heavy attack of EX Special Attack: Rock, EX Special Attack: Scissors, or EX Special Attack: Paper! hits enemies, she gains 7.5 Positive Reviews. Each use of a skill can grant this bonus only once, up to a maximum of 120.
With at least 90 Positive Reviews, when Dialyn triggers the Chain Attack window using Chain Attack: Welcome Mat, EX Special Attack: Get Lost!, or Quick Assist: Forward Call, the next character to switch in will have their Chain Attack upgraded to an Ultimate. When an ally launches an Ultimate this way, Dialyn consumes 60 Positive Reviews.
With at least 90 Positive Reviews, when Dialyn hits an enemy with EX Special Attack: Get Lost! and doesn’t trigger a Chain Attack window, she consumes 90 Positive Reviews to forcibly trigger a Chain Attack window. The next character to switch in will have their Chain Attack upgraded to an Ultimate.
Each time Positive Reviews reaches 90 or an Ultimate is activated, Dialyn obtains 1 Customer Complaint. A maximum of 1 Customer Complaint can be held at a time.

When another character in your squad is an Attack or Rupture character:
Dialyn’s EX Special Attack CRIT DMG is increased by 50%.
When an EX Special Attack or Ultimate is activated, all squad members gain the Overwhelmingly Positive effect. While Overwhelmingly Positive is active, DMG dealt is increased by 40% for 15s. When Dialyn uses an EX Special Attack or Ultimate while Overwhelmingly Positive is active, if the remaining duration of Overwhelmingly Positive is less than 35s, its duration is extended by 10s.
When a heavy attack from EX Special Attack: Rock, EX Special Attack: Scissors, or EX Special Attack: Paper! hits, additional DMG is dealt based on the previous squad member’s Specialty:
If the squad member is an Attack Agent, EX Special Attack: Rock, EX Special Attack: Scissors, and EX Special Attack: Paper! deal additional DMG equal to 320% of that Attack Agent’s ATK.
If the squad member is a Rupture Agent, EX Special Attack: Rock, EX Special Attack: Scissors, and EX Special Attack: Paper! deal additional DMG equal to 400% of that Rupture Agent’s Sheer Force.

Dialyn (ZZZ) Mindscape 6
When an ally enters the field with an Ultimate through the Core Passive’s effect, that ally gains the Aftertone effect. With this effect, landing an attack causes Dialyn to deal an additional instance of Physical DMG equal to 480% of Dialyn’s ATK. This DMG is treated as EX Special Attack DMG, and can trigger once every second, up to 12 times. Gaining Aftertone again refreshes its trigger count. Only one ally can have Aftertone at a time.
This weapon has Crit Rate as its main stat. When paired with a 2-piece Crit Rate Drive Disc set, you only need 11 substat rolls into Crit Rate to reach the Crit Rate cap for optimal build completion. In contrast, other W-engines without a Crit Rate main stat require 21 Crit Rate substat rolls to achieve the same result. Reaching the Crit Rate cap without her Signature W-engine is very difficult. If you do not have her Signature W-engine, it is advisable to aim for high Crit Rate without fixating on reaching the absolute maximum. Even with over a dozen Crit Rate substat rolls on a non-Signature W-engine, its Stun performance will still be lower than the Signature W-engine. Furthermore, the Signature W-engine’s special effect also provides Energy recovery and a 30% team-wide Crit DMG bonus, making it unequivocally the best W-engine for Dialyn.
Among other S-rank W-engines, only “Hellfire Gears” is considered decent due to its Energy recovery effect. All other S-rank options are outperformed by the A-rank W-engines “Precious Fossilized Core” and “Steam Oven”.
When “Precious Fossilized Core” is not paired with a 2-piece Energy recovery set, it provides superior Stun performance compared to “Steam Oven” that is not paired with a 2-piece Impact set. Therefore, if you lack both her Signature W-engine and “Hellfire Gears”, it is recommended to prioritize obtaining “Precious Fossilized Core”.

Sub Stats
For the 4-piece set, the only 4-star recommendation is “King of the Summit”.
For the 2-piece set:
If you have already reached the Crit Rate cap, use “Shockstar Disco”.
If you have not reached the Crit Rate cap, use “Woodpecker Electro”.
If you are experiencing Energy regeneration issues, you can use “Swing Jazz”.
Main Stats Priority
Slot 4: Crit Rate
Slot 5: When in a team with Yixuan, ATK% is optimal, providing about 5% more damage than Physical DMG% or PEN%. However, the overall difference is not substantial.
Slot 6: Prioritize Energy Regeneration in most situations. Only switch to Impact if you do not have Energy issues, for example, when using the Signature W-engine or “Man as Butcher’s Cleaver”.
Substats Priority
Prioritize Crit Rate first. After reaching the Crit Rate cap, you can appropriately invest in more offensive substats.
