Yixuan (ZZZ) is one of the Auric-Ink characters with role. Yixuan (ZZZ) is one of the S Rank characters in Zenless Zone Zero.

Yixuan is the first HP-scaling DPS character, making her inherently very tanky. Like Miyabi, she also has numerous invulnerable frames in combat. Yixuan introduces three completely new mechanics to the game. Let us explain these three new systems one by one.
First is the new character type – Rupture. Rupture-type agents combine offensive and defensive capabilities, specializing in dealing Sheer DMG that ignores enemy defenses to inflict massive damage. In summary, the new Rupture archetype is both durable and high-damage, with all their damage output being Sheer DMG. So what exactly is this Sheer DMG?
This brings us to the second new system – Sheer Force. In combat, all of Yixuan’s damage doesn’t scale with her ATK or HP stats directly, but rather with her Sheer Force, which itself converts from HP and ATK. Specifically, every 1% of Yixuan’s max HP increases her Sheer Force by 0.1%. Additionally, all Rupture-type characters convert a portion of ATK into Sheer Force. Testing shows HP conversion provides more value than ATK conversion, so prioritize HP stacking in actual builds.
One crucial note: Sheer DMG completely ignores enemy defense. This makes DEF-reducing supports like Nicole or PEN-boosting supports like Rina completely incompatible with Yixuan. The ideal supports would be HP buffers, though none exist yet. Currently, ATK buffers like Astra Yao or Lucy can serve as temporary options. Stue Characters like Qingyi or Trigger also work, though their passives become harder to activate. For now, Yixuan + Astra Yao is the optimal team comp, though Astra Yao is just a placeholder until proper HP buffers release.
The third new system is Auric Ink, a special Ether-type damage that benefits from Ether weaknesses/resistances, gets boosted by Ether DMG% buffs, and can trigger Erosion. When Auric Ink Erosion and normal Ether Erosion are both applied, they trigger Disorder.
Now let’s talk about Yixuan’s skills. Her kit contains numerous unique mechanics – multiple Basic Attack patterns, several Special Skill variations, and even two distinct Ultimates.
Her energy system uses Adrenaline instead of normal energy, capped at 120. Adrenaline has two functions: spending it to use Ex Special Skill, and converting spent Adrenaline (at 3:2 ratio) into Special Ultimate energy stored separately. The Special Ultimate requires spending 180 Adrenaline to fully charge (120 max capacity).
Yixuan’s Special Ultimate and Normal Ultimate operate independently. When both are charged, Special Ultimate activates first. The Special Ultimate has slightly lower damage/stagger values but grants 1 Auric Ink Point. Each Special Ultimate use gives 1 Auric Ink Point, which can be spent by holding dodge to become invulnerable and enter Vital View State and deploy a damaging Array that restores 21 Adrenaline.
Her combat flow involves: spending Adrenaline for Ex Special Skill, converting spent Adrenaline to charge Special Ultimate, using Special Ultimate for Auric Ink Points, then spending Auric Ink Points for Arrays to regain Adrenaline. Additionally, successfully blocking during Ex Special Skill startup (like Caesar’s parry) restores 10 Adrenaline, working against both yellow and red flash attacks.
Yixuan’s Special Skill has three variants:
Optimal play uses Enhanced Special Skill for blocking/energy regen, switching to Super Enhanced against Dazed enemies. Her Basic Attacks include:

Yixuan gains extra Sheer Force based on her Max HP, with every 1 point of Max HP increasing Sheer Force by 0.1.
All Auric Ink DMG Yixuan deals via her skills is Sheer DMG, ignoring enemy DEF and using her Sheer Force stat as the DMG Multiplier.
When Yixuan accumulates Auric Ink Anomaly Buildup, it uses an independent Anomaly Buildup gauge, and when triggering an Anomaly, she restores an additional 10 Adrenaline. This can trigger once every 10s.
Upon entering combat, Yixuan immediately restores all Adrenaline. In Investigation Zone Mode, this effect can only trigger once every 180s. Triggering a Perfect Dodge grants an additional 5 Adrenaline and can occur at most once per second.
When she consumes Adrenaline, Yixuan accumulates Technique Points, gaining 0.667 points for each point of Adrenaline consumed. With enough Technique Points, she can trigger an additional Ultimate: Endless Talisman Suppression, with a maximum of 120 Technique Points.
The DMG dealt by Yixuan’s Basic Attack: Auric Array, Basic Attack: Qingming Eruption, EX Special Attack, Assist Follow-Up, Chain Attack, and Ultimate increases by 60%.
After launching Ultimate: Endless Talisman Suppression, Yixuan gains one Auric Ink Point. She can spend an Auric Ink Point to launch Basic Attack: Auric Array.

When another character in your squad is a Stun, Support, or Defense character:
When a squad member uses an Ultimate, Yixuan continuously recovers 2 Adrenaline over 10s. If Yixuan is switched out by a Perfect Assist, she automatically follows up with a lightning strike attack, dealing DMG equal to 225% of her Sheer Force and restoring an additional 5 Adrenaline.
EX Special Attack: Cloud-Shaper and EX Special Attack: Ashen Ink Becomes Shadows deal 30% increased DMG to Stunned enemies.
After activating her Ultimate, Yixuan enters the Meditation state, increasing her CRIT DMG by 40% for 15s.

At the start of combat, Yixuan gains 10% Crit Rate and immediately recovers 120 Technique Points, allowing her to use her Enhanced Ultimate right away. Additionally, whenever any ally hits an enemy, Yixuan releases a lightning strike that deals damage and restores 5 Adrenaline (can trigger once every 6 seconds). This provides a ~23% damage increase.
M2
Yixuan’s Ex Special Skill and Ultimate ignore 15% Ether DMG Resistance. When using her Normal Ultimate, all Dazed enemies have their Daze duration extended by 3s.
Furthermore, when casting her Enhanced Ultimate, she gains 1 stack of Condensed Ink. When consumed, Condensed Ink deals massive bonus damage based on her Sheer Force. M2 is providing a ~23.5% damage increase.

After using an Ultimate, Yixuan gains 1 stack of Tranquility. Each stack increases the damage of her next Ex Special Skill or Enhanced Ex Special Skill.

When using an Ultimate, Yixuan gains 1 stack of Regulated Breathing, allowing her to cast an Enhanced Ultimate without consuming Technique Points (once every 30 seconds).
Additionally, after casting an Ultimate, entering Meditation State boosts her Sheer DMG by 20%, enabling massive burst damage during a single Imbalance window. This results in a ~30% total damage increase.

Upon entering combat, CRIT Rate increases by 10% and immediately gain 120 Technique Points. In Investigation Zone Mode, this effect can only trigger once every 180s. When any squad member lands a hit on an enemy, Yixuan automatically summons an extra lightning strike, dealing DMG equal to 50% of her Sheer Force and restoring 5 additional Adrenaline. This can trigger once every 6s.

The Regulated Breathing effect ends after Ultimate: Endless Talisman Suppression is used. This effect can only be gained once every 30s. Only one stack of Regulated Breathing can be held. Additionally, while in the Meditation state, Yixuan’s Sheer DMG is increased by 20%.
The best W-engine is Yixuan’s signature W-engine – the Qingming Birdcage, which boosts her Crit Rate, Ether DMG, and Ether Sheer DMG.
The Puzzle Sphere, an in-game purchasable A-rank W-engine, is her best alternative, offering approximately 76% of her signature weapon’s damage output. Meanwhile, the Radiowave Journey from the Battle Pass provides a slightly lower performance, enhancing damage by about 70-75%.

Yixuan’s Drive Disc setup is actually quite straightforward, as the 4-piece Yunkui Tales set is essentially custom-made for her. As for the 2-piece set, players can choose between Critical Damage set or Critical Rate set.
When selecting main stats:
For substats, the priority order should be: first prioritize Critical Rate and Critical Damage, followed by HP%, with Attack% being the third option.
