Update log : Updated Anton’s skill prior & Anton’s mechanism.
Anton is one of the Electric characters with role. Anton is one of the A Rank characters in Zenless Zone Zero.
Anton Build is included in this guide, you can jump to Anton Build Here.
Anton’s special mechanism is being the burst DPS in Shock team. His unique ability allows him to enter Burst Mode using Ex Special, where every 5 Critical Hits trigger an additional 45% Shock damage. Therefore, placing Anton in a team with a character like Grace, who excels in Shocking roles, combines his direct damage with the extra Shock damage, similar to teams with Stub roles that perform bursts after Daze. This mechanism allows Anton to take on the role of the burst DPS in Shock team, becoming the primary burst DPS in abnormal teams.
Anton’s total damage output is influenced by two factors: whether he has enough energy to use Ex Special to enter Burst Mode and whether the target is affected by Shock. This means he can only rely on skill amplification for damage during the short duration of Burst Mode. If the enemy is shocked, it can further enhance his damage. In Shock team, Anton’s direct damage combined with the additional Shock damage accounts for nearly two-thirds of team’s total damage, making him the core of the Shock team. However, the limitations of energy and Shock make Anton’s timing and positioning in battle crucial, so his build needs to focus on Energy Regen.
Special Note:
It was found that during Burst Mode, if the first two Basic Attacks don’t hit any targets, the third hit will still be enhanced even if the energy is consumed to zero. This ability allows Anton to infinitely use enhanced Basic Attacks, but it requires practice.

Drill Rig – Red Axis is Anton’s signature W-engine. When Ex Special is used, the Electic DMG dealt by Basic Attack and Dash Attack is increased by 50%. It fits Anton as Anton uses Ex Special to enter Burst Mode, and under Burst Mode Anton’s Basic Attack DMG is greatly increased. The second choice is The Brimstone. If you decide to use it is essential to use the Ultimate skill only after stacking it to 8 layers.
Cannon Rotor, which provide Crit Rate which is needed by Direct DMG dealer.
During the early game phase, you can use [Lunar] Noviluna and [Lunar] Pleniluna as transitional options. The former provides energy restoration which can ensure Anton can use Ex in every segment of DMG output. while the latter offers Basic Attack DMG increase.

Main Stats
Crit Rate = Crit DMG > PEN > ATK% > ATK
Sub Stats
Generally, the combination of 4 pcs Woodpecker and 2 pcs Thunder are suggested for Anton in Daze team. The 4 pcs set bonus provide ATK buff when Anton uses Ex or Basic Attack, which are commonly used by Anton.
In Shock Team, especially teaming with Anomaly Characters like Grace, it’s suggested to use the combination of 4 pcs Thunder plus 2 pcs Woodpecker. The 4 pcs set bonus of Thunder Metal is when there are enemies in Shock state, the wielder’s ATK is increased.
For main stats, choose Crir Rate or Crit DMG for Slot 4, Electric DMG for Slot 5, and Energy Regen for Slot 6 as Anton relies on Ex to enter Burst State. For sub-stats, prioritize Crit Rate and Crit DMG, and then it’s PEN and ATK%.

Grace’s playstyle is relatively straightforward, primarily focusing on Anomaly. The team composition should naturally revolve around Anomaly. The optimal team setup is a Shock team with Rina, Grace, and Anton. With two Belobog Heavy Industries characters present, the preferred Bangboo is Safety, with Electroboo as the second choice. Grace’s main role is to utilize her high attribute Buildup efficiency to quickly push enemies into the Shock State. Grace is usually built with AP also maximizes Shock damage.
Rina’s role is to leverage her two core passives to increase the team’s penetration rate, extend Shock duration by 3s, and boost the team’s Electric DMG when a Shocked target is present.
Anton’s job is to deal as much damage as possible during the Shock state and to trigger more Shock instances. When Anton is in his Ex Special burst state, every five Crit Hits trigger an additional 15% Shock DMG. Anton’s high Crit Rate can nearly double Grace’s single Shock damage, making this a well-rounded and mature Anomaly-Support-Burst setup.
The team’s operation is simple. After entering combat, Rina should first use Basic Attack to deploy her doll, increasing the team’s penetration rate. Grace then performs Electro Buildup, occasionally switching to Rina to maintain the doll on the field with Basic Attacks. When enemies enter the Shock state, switch Rina in to use Ex Special or Basic Attack, then bring in Anton to use Special for output. The only issue with this team is the misalignment between T0 Anton’s output time and T0 Rina’s buff duration and Shock duration. Shock lasts about 12 seconds, but T0 Rina’s buff only lasts 5 seconds. To maximize Rina’s coverage, Ex Special must be used before Anton comes in, making Rina’s energy demand very high. T0 Rina Anton cannot fully use two sets of Basic Attacks without 70 energy. The options are either to sacrifice Anton’s output for energy or slow down the team’s rhythm to build energy. The solution is both difficult and simple: if both characters reach T1, the problem is solved. Anton’s 1st constellation allows extra energy during Basic Attacks, while Rina’s extends her buff duration by 5.5 seconds, perfectly covering the entire output period and optimizing the Shock team.

Burst
If Rina is unavailable, consider using Anby to replace Rina, forming a Daze Shock team with Grace, Anby, and Anton. The Bangboo can be either Electroboo to increase Electric DMG or Starterboo to assist with Daze. This setup trades Rina’s damage-boosting ability for Anby’s Daze capability. Grace still focuses on attribute anomalies but needs to switch to Anby via Assist Follow-up as much as possible. When Anby is on the field, she should use a set of Basic Attack + Special + Charged Attack, then switch back to Grace to maximize the on-field time of Grace due to her higher Anomaly Buildup efficiency. Switch to Anton only when the enemy is in Shock or Daze to use Ex Special for a burst.
Compared to the Pure Electric team mentioned earlier, this setup is less efficient. Grace herself does not synergize well with a Daze-oriented team. This team is essentially a lower-tier substitute and is not recommended for long-term development.
