The Master of Magnetism bends even the strongest metal to his whims, shielding his allies and striking at his foes. Whether he calls himself Max Eisenhardt, Erik Lehnsherr, or simply Magneto, the hardships this warrior has endured have made him as unbreakable as the steel he brandishes.
Max Eisenhardt was born with a near-limitless Mutant ability to manipulate magnetic fields. Suffering a lifetime of persecution, Magneto made it his mission to ensure the survival of Mutantkind, no matter the cost. His uncompromising crusade often puts him at odds with other Mutants who seek more peaceful ways to coexist with humanity.
Magneto led the campaign to gather the planet’s Mutant population and transport them decades into the future to a safe haven on the sentient island Krakoa, protecting his brethren from the growing dangers of the wider world.
Strengths
In the Marvel Rivals game, Magneto excels as a tank who delivers exceptional damage and boasts the highest kill potential, especially when teamed up with the Scarlet Witch. This powerful synergy often leads to Magneto being banned in high-rank games and tournaments, as he’s nearly impossible to counter. His C ability, when combined with the Scarlet Witch, enables him to use his ultimate approximately every 30 seconds, significantly influencing the game’s momentum.
Magneto is also an outstanding main tank due to his bubble shield, which can make enemy heroes like Venom incredibly challenging to deal with. He excels at protecting his supports from enemy dives. For example, if Black Panther targets your support hero, deploying your shield not only saves your healer but also turns Black Panther into an easy target for your team to eliminate.
Having his shield available allows Magneto to safeguard almost his entire team from game-changing ultimate abilities, such as those from Iron Man or the Scarlet Witch. These attributes make him a versatile tank who fits seamlessly into any team composition.
Weaknesses
Magneto’s primary weakness is his lack of movement abilities, which can make repositioning difficult in fast-paced battles. Additionally, flying characters can occasionally present challenges for him, as they can attack from angles that are harder for him to defend against.
Tips and Tricks
Aim for the Legs with Your C Ability: When your C ability is ready, focus on aiming at the enemies’ legs. This ability doesn’t benefit from headshot multipliers but has a large splash radius and range, making it more effective when aimed lower.
Protect Your Backline Against Dives: If you’re up against a dive composition, keep a close eye on your backline. A well-timed bubble on your Strategist can disrupt enemy plans and keep your support heroes safe.
Shield Diving Teammates: If you have an ally diving into the enemy backline, applying your bubble shield to them can provide brief protection from incoming crowd control effects, increasing their chances of success.
Use Your Shield (Left Shift) Strategically: Your shield can protect you and your team from devastating ultimate abilities that could potentially eliminate you in a single hit. Utilize it wisely to mitigate these high-impact threats.
Deploy Your Ultimate Tactically: Use your ultimate ability in front of enemies to gather charge more quickly while also evading damage. This strategic deployment can shift the tide of battle in your favor.
Magneto possesses team-up abilities that synergize with Scarlet Witch.
